MGTS光纜的結構是將250 m光纖套入高模量材料制成的松套管中，松套管內填充防水化合物。纜芯的中心是一根金屬加強芯，對於某些芯數的光纜來說，金屬加強芯外還需擠上一層聚乙烯(PE)。松套管(和填充)圍繞中心加強芯絞合成緊湊和圓形的纜芯纜芯內的縫隙充以阻水填充物。雙面塗塑鋼帶(PSP)縱包後擠制阻燃護套成纜。
Thefibers,250pm, are positioned in a loose tube made ofa high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with awater-resistant filling compound. A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable withhigh ber count, locates in the center ofcore as a metallic strength member. Tubes (and llers) are strandedaround the strenath member into a compact and circular cable core. The PSP is longitudinally applied ovethe cable core. which is lled with the lling compound to protect it from water inaress. The cable iscompleted with a ame-retardant sheath.
